Description
The topic of this week is SDI-enabling technologies and standards. For example, SDI technologies can facilitate storage, use and transfer of geo-spatial data. Also standards allow the interoperability, data exchange, etc.
Assignment
Select those SDI-techniques and standards that can be used in the implementation of the envisaged Spatial Data Infrastructure for Utopia. Explain your selection and additionally present (demonstrate) for each technique and standards some illustrative examples originating from SDI's that are already in operation in other countries. You base your choices based on information in the reader, lectures and exercise activities.
